With its products from the Sushi Collection, Moroso is inside the EU Presidency which, from 1st January to 30th June 2016, is based in Amsterdam.
Studio Edward van Vliet designed and renovated the space for the European Commission, incorporating a revisited version of the Sushi Collection Edward van Vliet designed for Moroso. A new, specially designed fabric in tones of blue covers the Sushi family products, such as the Juju small armchair or the Block Seat, already part of the collection, as well as new elements that have been added.
The theme is ‘exploring'. It refers to the maritime nature of the buildings and to how the Dutch have explored the world. But it is also a reference to Dutch design, to its revolutionary and innovative nature.

Focus on: SUSHI COLLECTION

Sushi, Karkaoma, Juju, Donut, Joy, damask embroidery, oriental symbolism, floral patterns and digital grids: a collection which finds its identity in the abundance of layering. There is an accumulation of different inputs and stimuli, a manic flow which goes from architectural forms to various images from folklore. Traditional, futuristic, digital rationality, three-dimensional, romantic, psychedelic elation, a visual melting pot of fabric, fear of emptiness, harmony, immodest, delicacy and geometric severity...an endless series of images and visions , which neither frightens nor intimidates but rather welcomes the user into a soft, hypnotic kaleidoscope.

"Vivir con Arte" with Moroso's Love Me Tender

The Love Me Tender sofa which Patricia Urquiola designed for Moroso featured on the full-size cover installed on the stand of AD España magazine at the ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid.
"Vivir Con Arte" is the name of the project for which Serge Castella, Patricia Urquiola and Maria Lladò designed three settings to show the existing correlation between art and design.
In her installation, Patricia Urquiola used a vis-à-vis version of her Love Me Tender sofa as the composition's central element. It was arranged with a Shimmer low table and mirror, which go so well with Marina Vargas's work entitled Revolver Smith & Wesson.

Moroso supports Love Design and Gomitolo Rosa

Moroso confirms its concern and support for non-profit organisations such as Gomitolo Rosa and Love Design. The company's commitment to and focus on research and preventive medicine continue unabated. In December Moroso participated in Love Design at La Fabbrica del Vapore and for Valentine's Day provided an installation, in Milan's famous luxury shopping zone, to support Gomitolo Rosa.
For Love Design Moroso donated two of the firm's iconic products: a Shadowy chaise longue from the M'Afrique collection and a Paper Planes armchair designed by Nipa Doshi&Jonathan Levien. More recently, Moroso supported the Gomitolo Rosa association by furnishing a clear "display case" lounge with eight different chairs from its production: from Tokujin Yoshioka's Moon to Ross Lovegrove's iconic Supernatural and Diatom and the more recent St Mark by Martino Gamper.
